A Guide to Ordering Switch Keys and Lift Keys OnlineDOM logo

Looking for spare switch keys? You’re in the right place.

It is often a challenge to get spare switch keys or lift keys for your machinery. That’s why we decided to set up a website to make that process much simpler.

Since there are so many different switch keys out there, serving such a wide range of uses, we thought it might be useful to provide a guide to selecting products from our range of lift and switch keys.

You’re always welcome to give us a call on (+44) 020 7608 0809 or to write to us if you have any queries.

Will you need my key to copy from?

We won’t need your key to copy from. That’s the magic of switch keys: they can all be cut remotely, from a code number.

So if you only have one key left, which you use every day, do not fear! We can cut your key and send it to you without any ado.

Key code numbers & where to find them.

Most switch keys will have a code number marked on them. Sometimes the key-hole will also have a code number marked on it.

KABA logoTypically, a key code number is marked on the head of the key. If the head of the key is made of plastic (though this is rarely the case with switch keys), then the code is usually written on the top of the stem of the key.

If you’re unsure of the key number, we may be able to identify the key by seeing a photo. If you’re unsure, email a photo to help@welovekeys.co.uk or use our photo upload tool.

You may not have any keys left. In that case, it’s worth checking in the documentation that came with the machine or lift to see if there’s a part number listed for replacement keys. From that part number we’re often able to identify which key it is you need.

What if I can’t find my key code?

In some cases, we will be able to make a key simply from a photo. Use our photo upload tool to send us a couple of pictures of your key, and we will get back to you with a solution.
